About Barney Thomas
"My father was an engineer, and when I was a boy he would sometimes take me to his work sites. I would look at the skeletons of his buildings, the machinery used to build them, and all the different materials that went into their construction with utter fascination. I asked a lot of questions, which he was always kind enough to answer, and I learned a lot.
"I studied chiropractic in college and had a private practice for years. Like my dad, though, I loved building things, especially things made of wood. I eventually let go of my practice and started my own building and home repair company in Connecticut where my wife and I were living at the time. "Over the years, I have diagnosed and fixed virtually every type of damage that can befall roofs, walls, windowsills, basements, decks, garages, you name it. Maybe it's a little quirky, but I love to do the detective work necessary to trace damage back to its cause, and then fix it so well you can't tell there was any damage to begin with. "Carpentry, however, is my passion. Nothing makes me happier than to disappear into my woodworking studio and lose all track of time as I design, measure, cut, groove, sand and assemble the parts that go into a customer's project. When I install that newly built something into the customer's home, I live to see the smiles that inevitably follow. "One more thing I'd like you to know: I'm a nice guy. Most of my customers have been stung by unscrupulous workmen in the past, making a few of them a little wary when they first met me. But once they got to know me, they came to trust me. At least 85% of my business is repeat business. "If you need something built or fixed, let me know. I'd love to help you. Use the form below to contact me by email, or just pick up the phone and give me a call during business hours. If I'm busy on a job, leave a message and I'll call you back as soon as I possibly can." |
